CALCULATED PLAY

The work I do is often seen as the engineering of design, since it focuses on more than aesthetics and works within the limitations of physical/digital production. Design is a unique mix of art and science, with a focus on people above all else. How someone feels and interacts with something is just as vital as how it is made. My design process is guided and shaped by the inherent duality of my field. Intentional and exploratory. Logical and empathetic. Calculated and playful. A solutions mosaic that combines multi-disciplinary tools and is informed by the people I am designing for.

DESIGN PROCESS

Design is not a linear process. It is a cycle of iterations that only ends once an adequate result is achieved. The key to a good design is not making it perfect, but making it real. It is about knowing when the cycle needs to stop. The cycle is the science and the end point is the art.
