ABOUT ME
Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, my family had immigrated to Canada when I was quite young. Having grown up in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual setting influenced not only who I am, but my design process as well. My experience in and out of OCAD University has taught me to be attentive, adaptable and action driven.
My design philosophy focuses on empathy first, solutions second. I always strive to meet people where they are at, and to understand their needs to create a solid foundation for my designs. Shaped by Canada's cultural mosaic, my design process is a solutions mosaic: combining multi-disciplinary tools and approaches in a calculated and playful way.
I am always looking to expand my toolkit, master new things, and learn from people of all walks of life.
PRACTICE
Industrial design is a wide field that can be applied in many different areas. From product design to envisioning the future, it all falls into the scope of my practice.
EDUCATION
I am in the process of completing a Bachelors of Design in Industrial Design at OCAD University.
LOCATION
Based in Canada, in the (former) city above Toronto, Vaughan.
BRAVIS THE BRAVE
After a small puppy jumped on my lap and barked away all the competition, I had found myself taking care of a rambunctious dog who always got into trouble. For his fortitude and spunky personality, I named him Bravis, the bravest boy. There is something to be said to the unique challenge of taking care of a puppy that constantly gets sick. It is a test of empathy and genuine effort to understand the needs of someone who cannot speak. Bravis has taught me to lead with empathy and follow with solutions.
